There is something that just screams luxury about a gold-painted car. Just one problem though, gold paint can be incredibly well done, but it can also be really bad. Depending on the quality of the paint and the paint job itself, as well as the color and whether the paint uses actual gold, you can get a wide range of looks when it comes to gold cars.

But, if you’re looking for a great gold car, you’re probably looking for something that gives you that feeling of luxury and opulence.

There are a lot of different cars out there that have a gold paint option, but that doesn’t mean that they’re going to have the best gold paint or give you that look and feel that you’re searching for. So, here are some of the best gold cars that have been made.

Top Gold Cars

To be clear, to get the best gold car you’re probably looking at a custom paint or plating job. The highest quality of gold exterior is a plated vehicle, one where gold was actually used and then protected on the surface of the vehicle to help the plating last even with use of the vehicle.

So, while we’re looking for the best gold vehicles, we’ve included vehicles that have had successful and beautiful custom gold finishes applied as well as vehicles that come in a stock gold color.

Also, since we’re looking at the best gold cars available, these are luxury vehicles, and some of them may be collectors’ items that are still available, but might not be in active production.

Gold Bugatti Veyron

Bugatti is one of those names that, if you know it, comes with a certain status and understanding of luxury. Bugatti vehicles are top-of-the-line, high-performance, luxury cars with a distinctive look and design.

Of course, they back that with the fine performance of each Bugatti model. The Veyron is one of Bugatti’s sleeker options, which makes it a fantastic candidate for a gold finish. The swooping lines and curves of the Veyron (any of the versions of the Veyron, to be honest) really highlight the best features of gold and highlight the way metallic colors reflect the light.

Plus, with a 0-100 time of just 2.5 seconds, the Veyron is definitely one of the vehicles that best deserves a gold finish.

If you’re interested in seeing what a Bugatti Veyron looks like in gold, they’re very searchable. There are a few people who have gold plated their Veyrons, so you can see what it looks like.

Lamborghini Aventador

Lamborghini might not be the very best that the luxury car market has to offer, but the brand is up there in terms of quality, reputation, and features. Plus, if you’re looking for vehicles that combine the sleek look of a muscle car with the powerful and aggressive features of a more modern vehicle, Lamborghini has got some options for you.

Few vehicles look better in gold than the Aventador.

There are a few different versions of this coupe, but all of them look fantastic in a high-quality gold finish. Just don’t try using a cheaper paint version if you want to customize an Aventador, the quality difference between the paint and the vehicle itself will show.

Of course, price shouldn’t be an object if you’re getting an Aventador.  One of the more expensive vehicles on the luxury market right now, this Lamborghini doesn’t come cheap even if you’re looking to buy it used.

In fact, when used Aventador are sold, like many other high-end luxury vehicles, you’re more likely to find them at an auction than on a car sales lot.

Like the Bugatti Veyron, there are a few gold Aventadors out there already, so you won’t get strange looks if you ask from one at your local custom shop. They might even have you look at different examples to really hone in on the tone and color you’re looking for.

THE BEST TWO-SEATER CARS

If you’re in the market for a speedy two-seater, we’ve got you covered. Check out our list of the best two-seater cars on the market today.

Golden BMW x5m

An SUV might not be the first vehicle you think of when you’re picturing a gold car, but don’t let that hold you back!

The BMX x5m looks incredible in Gold, and it’s one of the more popular vehicles to get true gold plating, despite being very different from a lot of the vehicles that get the same treatment.

Don’t let the larger size fool you though, this SUV still very much belongs in the luxury market and does a great job of it. Plus, with its beefier specs and hard-wearing design, this is one gold vehicle that’s designed to take you wherever you want to go.

Just make sure the paint job is designed to be as hard-wearing as the rest of the vehicle before you sign up.

Bentley Flying Spur

There are few vehicles out there that look classier than a Bentley.

The Flying Spur is one of those vehicles that looks like it could have come straight out of a period piece about the early 20th century, but modern versions are definitely more advanced than that.

Of course, going for that classic look means that the Flying Spur doesn’t have as many swoops and curves in its body plan, unlike a lot of other gold cars. That actually works to your advantage though.

Paint or plate a Flying Spur gold, and you’re looking at a recipe for very clean lines, shimmer, and a lot of shine. It might not highlight the metallic qualities of the gold quite as well, but it’ll stand out on any road or show floor.

Porsche 918 Spyder

In terms of cars that deserve to be turned gold, there are few that come to mind faster than a Spyder. Porsche is known for their luxury vehicles, and offer a wider range of options than many of their competitors. But there’s something special about the Spyder, and people have been noticing its unique qualities since the moment it was released.

If you’re looking for a gold car somewhere between the extreme modernism of an Aventura and the classic lines of the Flying Spur, the 918 Spyder has you covered.

Of course, the run of the 918 Spyder was limited and every model is accounted for, which means that you’ll have to keep an eye on luxury vehicle auctions if you want to get your hands on one, and it’s a fairly rare opportunity.

Still, we’ve seen the Spyder done up in a custom gold finish, and the color really compliments the unique vehicle of this limited-run luxury car.

Golden Audi S5 Sportback

The Audi S5 Sportback is probably the most affordable of the vehicles on this list, but it’s still nice enough to make a gold finish look good. There are a few golden Audi S5 Sportbacks on the road already, though gold isn’t one of the factory finishes you can buy them with.

This vehicle is probably most similar to the Flying Spur in terms of looks, though it’s not as powerful under the hood or in the cabin as the other options on this list.

Still, though, the Sportback is one of the few consumer luxury vehicles that really looks good in gold, making it one of the best options if you’re looking at gold cars.

The Sportback’s frame is classic with a touch of the modern, like a lot of Audi’s nicest options, and with 349 horsepower and the ability to go from 0-60mph in less than 5 seconds, you’ll still get plenty of power with this more affordable gold option.
